Lot 14 British Columbia #17 50c On 3d Violet Seal Of BC, 1869 Surcharge Issue, A Good Used Single With Small Stain & Corner Crease

A good used single of the 50c on 3d violet Seal Of BC from the 1869 Surcharge Issue with small stain & corner crease.

The Gratton cert states that the stamp has short and missing perforations. This is grossly incorrect, and respectfully shows that Mr Gratton is unfamiliar with perf 12.5 Crown CC stamps. All 12.5 Crown CC's have unpunched perforation discs and often appear to have short perfs when in reality it only looks this way because most of ther perf discs remain attached to the stamp. If you remove them then you will find that the perfs are actually 8/10.

Unitrade values this at $325. The stamp offered here grades 51 as follows:

Centering/Margins: 30/60

Paper Freshness: 5/5

Colour: 3/5

Impression: 5/5

Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 5/5

Perforations: 10/10

Cancellation: 8/10
