A very fine unused imperforate single of the 1d brown violet Crown and Heraldic Flowers from the 1857-1860 Pence Issue. This is identified as being from the first printing by the paper, which is thick and soft, with clear mesh. This paper was machine-made, as opposed to the handmade paper of the later issue.
