Lot 10 Prince Edward Island #5a 2d Rose on Yellowish Paper, Perf. 11.75 Die 1 Single Usage on January 1867 Cover to William Sanderson, Merchant

A very fine local cover sent from an indeterminate location within the island to William Sanderson in Georgetown. Sanderson was Scot born in Aberdeen, who settled in PEI on 1832, starting his merchant business in 1840. There is a historical landmark, the Lewis and Clara Ann Lavandier House in Georgetown, which is open to tourists and is known for its roofrop cupola. It was the site of Sanderson's orignal warehouse. Prince Edward Island and Georgetown circular backstamps. Very fine. Unitrade cat. for fine $125.
