Canada #916iG1aL 30c Multicoloured, 1982 Constitution Issue, A VFNH Example on LF-fl Paper, Showing 1-Bar Tag Error and Shifted Canada Arms
A well centered and very fine NH example of the 30c stamp from the 1982 Constitution Issue, showing two varieties:
- A 1 mm rightward shift of the gold ink for the Canada Arms only. The gold pages are in perfect registration with the other colours, which suggests that the gold of the arms was printed in a separate operation from the pages.
- A rightward shift of the tagging causing a single 3 mm tagging bar on the left side.
Further, this stamp is printed on the LF-fl Abitibi paper, rather than the DF Abitibi paper, on which most of the stamps of this issue are typically found.
Rose lists the tagging variety on DF paper at $60 for used, but does not price it mint, nor does it list the colour shift. So our estimate of the value for this example is $75. The stamp offered here grades 80 as follows:
Paper freshness: 5/5
Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5
