Canada #404viii 4c Bright Red Queen Elizabeth II, 1962-1967 Cameo Issue, a VFNH LR Field Stock Pair Tagged With 8 mm Split Bar, on LF-fl Paper
A very fine NH lower right field stock block of the 4c bright red stamp of the 1962-1967 Cameo Issue, printed on smooth LF-fl paper, and tagged with a 8 mm split bar (6 x 8 mm bars per pane) of medium strength. Perf. 11.85 x 11.9 with a smooth dex gum that has a semi-gloss sheen.
The tagging on this issue does exhibit some differences that are not specifically mentioned in Unitrade. The main one is that the strength varies from light, which is almost invisible, to moderate, which is visible, but not dark, and finally to dark, in which the bands appear deep yellow. The width of the bands also varies from the standard width of between 8-9 mm to a smaller size of 7 mm, which was applied at the outer columns of the panes of some, but not all printings.
This pair has wide selvedge on the right and at the bottom, so it comes from the upper right or right centre pane.
Unitrade lists a pair of this tagging variety at $10.00. The block offered here grades 80 as follows:
Paper freshness: 5/5
Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5
