Two very fine used examples of the mid-Montreal printing of the 3c bright orange-red Queen Victoria stamp from the 1870-1897 Small Queen Issue, each printed on a different stout wove paper. Both three are perf. 11.75 x 12, which is a variation of the perf. 11.5 x 12 (Gibbons lists both 11.75 x 12 and 11.5 x 12). The left stamp is printed on horizontal wove paper with clear mesh and the right stamp is printed on vertical wove paper with indistinct mesh. Unitrade values two VF-75 used singles at $30. The stamps offered here grade 75 and 78 as follows:
