Canada #37 3c Orange Red Queen Victoria, 1870-1897 Small Queen Issue Single Usage of the Orange Red Shade on 1885 Church and Fee Cover

Sold out

A fine cover franked with the 3c orange red Queen Victoria stamp from the 1870-1897 Small Queen Issue. Sent from the offices of Church and Fee, in South Durham, Quebec to Richmond, Quebec, on December 11, 1885. Interestingly the stamp shows a clear position dot at lower left, which ordinarily would be indicative of a pre-1880 printing. Clearly the pre-1880 printings were either still in use in 1885, or the use of these position dots continued past 1880. Est $15.
