Canada #332i 3c Cerise Queen Elizabeth II, 1953-1954 Karsh Issue, A Very Fine NH Mint Coil Jump Strip of 4 on Vertical Ribbed Horizontal Wove, Showing Narrow Spacing Between the Two Pairs

Sold out

A well centered and very fine mint NH jump strip of 4 of the 3c cerise Queen Elizabeth II coil stamp from the 1953-1954 Karsh Issue. Printed on horizontal wove paper that shows clear vertical ribbing. The jump is between the first and second pair. There is also narrow spacing of 3.5 mm between the two pairs, rather than the normal 4 mm. Unitrade states that jump strips will never be perfectly centered because of the jump, so the way to grade them properly is as the average of two separate pairs. Unitrade values this strip in this grade at $10 for normal spacing. Narrow spacing strips should be worth between $20 and $40, based on the premiums that such varieties normally attract on the other coil issues.  The strip offered here grades 75 as follows:

Centering/margins: 45/70
Paper freshness: 5/5
Colour: 5/5
Impression: 5/5
Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5
Perforations: 10/10
