A group of 6 well centered and very fine NH booklet singles of the 3c carmine-red or rose purple King George VI stamp from the 1942-1949 War Issue.  Although not listed in Unitrade, these stamps exist on a variety of different papers, printed in different shades and with various gum types. Included in this group are:

  1. Lower right single from the pane of 4 +2 in deep carmine, on smooth vertical wove paper with smooth yellowish cream gum that has a satin sheen.
  2. Lower right single as above, but printed in a brighter shade of carmine-red and with gum that has a semi-gloss sheen. 
  3. Upper right corner single from the pane of 4+2, and printed in rose-purple. Printed on smooth vertical wove paper, with smooth deep cream gum that has a satin sheen.
  4. Upper right corner single from the pane of 6. Printed on smooth vertical wove paper and with smooth deep cream gum that has a satin sheen. The stamps are printed in deep claret. 
  5. Lower edge single from the pane of 4+2, with all characteristics as (3) above, but with light horizontal ribbing in the paper. 
  6. Right edge single from the pane of 3, on smooth vertical wove paper, with deep cream gum that has a satin sheen. This stamp is a deep rose purple shade.
