Canada #184 (SG#263) 3c Dark Rose Red 1931 Admiral Provisional Perf 12x8 VF-84 NH

A very well centered and very fine mint NH single of the 3c dark rose red King George V Admiral Provisional stamp, perforated 12 x 8. Vertical wove paper with fine vertical mesh and cream gum with a glossy sheen. Unitrade values a VF-75 NH single at $36. However examples grading above VF-80 are scarce due to the coarseness of the vertical perforation. Many well centered examples have rough or uneven perforations, and conversely many stamps with even, intact perforations are off-center. This example is very much better quality than a standard very fine example, and our price reflects that fact. The stamp offered here grades VF-84 NH as follows:
