Canada #1676/1680 4c Oyster Farming - 25c Leatherworking, 1998-2003 Trades and Wildlife Issue, Combination Usages on 2005 and 2006 Covers to the UK

Two single weight airmail covers to the UK, each franked with a different combination of low value Trades definitives and one or more commemoratives, to make up the international rate, as follows:

  • An October 2005 cover, franked with singles of the 10c woodworking x 2 and 25c leatherworking combined with the 50c Search and Rescue and Oscar Peterson issues, to pay the $1.45 rate to the UK. The stamps are not cancelled because the envelope went through the inkjet canceller upside down and so the cancel appears at the bottom of the envelope.
  • A December 2006 prepaid domestic postal stationery enveloper, franked with a single 85c Christmas issue and singles of the 4c oyster farming and 9c quilting, to make up the $1.49 rate to the UK.

Some nice usages of the low value Trades as make up stamps, as well as the commemorative issues. The second cover is particularly interesting, as the 85c Christmas stamp was intended to pay the US rate, so its use on a cover going to UK is unusual. Est. $15 for the pair.
