Canada #1170-1176a 44c-63c Mammals 1988-1991 Wildlife and Architecture Issue, a VF Used Specialized Group of 19 Stamps on Different Papers and With Various Perfs
A VF used specialized grouping of 19 stamps, being the 44c-63c mammals stamps from the 1988-1991 Wildlife and Architecture Issue. All listed perforations and papers are present except for 1171c, 1173i, and 1174a. In addition, some unlisted NF/LF paper varieties are present for the 43c and 46c perf. 14.4 x 13.8. Most of the stamps are in-period CDS examples.
On this issue paper fluorescence has been completely ignored because the perception is that all the stamps are on dull paper. However, this is a bit of an oversimplification, as the pictures of some of the low value stamps will show. While it is true that the coated Slater, Harrison, Rolland and Peterborough papers are generally dull on the face, or non-fluorescent on the face, stamps on Coated Papers Paper are truly "dead" on the face most of the time and are much darker under UV than the stamps on any other paper. On the back, the papers vary from NF which is quite greyish to DF cream to a very light low fluorescence on some of the Harrison papers.
Unitrade lists these stamps at $24.10 for fine used. The stamps offered here grade between 75 and 84 as follows:
Centering/Margins 35/60, 40/60 and 44/60
Paper freshness: 5/5
Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5
