Canada #1183i $5 Bonsecours Market 1988-1991 Wildlife and Architecture Issue, a VFNH Example of the Plate 2 Printing
A VFNH example of the $5 Bonsecours Market stamp from the 1988-1991 Wildlife and Architecture Issue, on the NF/DF Coated Papers paper from plate 2.
The Printings differ according to (1) whether the columns in the dome are light or dark in colour and (2) the intensity of the grey black in the roofline. On the plate 2 printing the columns are deeper in colour and the roofline is a deep grey black.
On this issue paper fluorescence has been completely ignored because the perception is that all the stamps are on dull paper. However, this is a bit of an oversimplification, as the pictures of the $1 stamps will show. While it is true that the Harrison paper is dull on the face, or non-fluorescent on the face, stamps on this paper can be found with low and medium fluorescence on the back.
Unitrade lists this stamp at $20 for VFNH. The stamp offered here grades 84 as follows:
Paper freshness: 5/5
Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5
