Canada #1182iii $2 McAdam Railway Station 1988-1991 Wildlife and Architecture Issue, a VFNH Example of the Plate 2 Printing With Misperf
A VFNH example of the $2 McAdam Railway Station stamp from the 1988-1991 Wildlife and Architecture Issue, on Coated Papers Paper, from plate 2, showing significant misperf.
The Printings differ according to (1) the fluorescence of the paper on the back, (2) the evenness of the dot shading pattern of the background (3) the colour of the roof trim and (4) whether the vertical rails in the roof are thick or thin. This stamp is on DF/DF paper, has deep green trim with thicker rails and a random dot pattern.
On this issue paper fluorescence has been completely ignored because the perception is that all the stamps are on dull paper. However, this is a bit of an oversimplification, as the pictures of the $1 stamps will show. While it is true that the Harrison paper is dull on the face, or non-fluorescent on the face, stamps on this paper can be found with low and medium fluorescence on the back.
Unitrade does not list misperfs. This one is a little less spectacular than most on offer this week, so my estimate of the value is $10. The stamp offered here grades 75 as follows:
Paper freshness: 5/5
Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5
