Canada #1182 $2 McAdam Railway Station 1988-1991 Wildlife and Architecture Issue, a VFNH UL Plate 1 Block on DF/DF Harrison Paper
A VFNH upper left plate 1 block of the $2 McAdam Railway Station stamp from the 1988-1991 Wildlife and Architecture Issue, on DF/DF Harrison paper, from plate 1.
The Printings differ according to (1) the fluorescence of the paper on the back, (2) the evenness of the dot shading pattern of the background (3) the colour of the roof trim and (4) whether the vertical rails in the roof are thick or thin. On this block the roof trim is light green, the rails are thin and the dot pattern is random.
On this issue paper fluorescence has been completely ignored because the perception is that all the stamps are on dull paper. However, this is a bit of an oversimplification, as the pictures of the $1 stamps will show. While it is true that the Harrison paper is dull on the face, or non-fluorescent on the face, stamps on this paper can be found with low and medium fluorescence on the back.
Unitrade lists this block at $25 for VFNH. The block offered here grades 80 as follows:
Paper freshness: 5/5
Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5
