Canada #1180c 80c Multicolored Peary Caribou 1988-1991 Wildlife and Architecture Issue, VFNH UL Field Stock Block on Unlisted DF/LF Peterborough Paper
A VFNH upper left field stock block of the 80c multicolored Peary Caribou stamp from the 1988-1991 Wildlife and Architecture Issue, printed on DF/LF Peterborough paper with a perf of 14.4 x 13.8.
In this issue paper fluorescence has been completely ignored because the perception is that all the stamps are on dull paper. However, this is a bit of an oversimplification, as the pictures of some of the low value stamps will show. While it is true that the coated Slater, Harrison, Rolland and Peterborough papers are generally dull on the face, or non-fluorescent on the face, stamps on Coated Papers Paper are truly "dead" on the face most of the time and are much darker under UV than the stamps on any other paper. On the back, the papers vary from NF which is quite greyish to DF cream to a very light low fluorescence on some of the Harrison and Peterborough papers.
Unitrade lists four singles at $30 for VFNH. The block offered here grades 75 as follows:
Paper freshness: 5/5
Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5
