Canada #1167/1169as 39c-40c Queen Elizabeth II and Canadian Flag 1988-1991 Wildlife and Architecture Issue, a VFNH Specialized Group of 9 Stamps, Being All Listed Varieties Except 1168i
A VFNH specialized grouping of 9 stamps, being the 39c & 40c Queen Elizabeth and 40c Canadian Flag stamps from the 1988-1991 Wildlife and Architecture Issue. All listed sheet and booklet stamps are present, except for the 40c Queen Elizabeth II sheet stamp on Harrison paper. Also included is the rare perf. 13.1 x 12.8 BABN printing of the 39c Queen Elizabeth II.
On this issue paper fluorescence has been completely ignored because the perception is that all the stamps are on dull paper. However, this is a bit of an oversimplification, as the pictures of some of the low value stamps will show. While it is true that the coated Slater, Harrison, Rolland and Peterborough papers are generally dull on the face, or non-fluorescent on the face, stamps on Coated Papers Paper are truly "dead" on the face most of the time and are much darker under UV than the stamps on any other paper. On the back, the papers vary from NF which is quite greyish to DF cream to a very light low fluorescence on some of the Harrison papers.
Unitrade lists these stamps at $29.25 for VFNH. The stamps offered here grade between 75 and 84 as follows:
Centering/Margins 45/70, 50/70 and 54/70
Paper freshness: 5/5
Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5
