Canada #1162, 1164-1164as 37c-38c Queen Elizabeth II 1988-1991 Wildlife and Architecture Issue, a VFNH Specialized Group of 5 Stamps, Different Papers

Sold out

A VFNH specialized grouping of 5 stamps, being the 37c and 38c Queen Elizabeth II stamps from the 1988-1991 Wildlife and Architecture Issue. All listed sheet and booklet stamps are present. Included is a variation of the 37c in which the paper is a slightly lighter version of DF as opposed to the more greyish DF.

On this issue paper fluorescence has been completely ignored because the perception is that all the stamps are on dull paper. However, this is a bit of an oversimplification, as the pictures of some of the low value stamps will show. While it is true that the coated Slater, Harrison, Rolland and Peterborough papers are generally dull on the face, or non-fluorescent on the face, stamps on Coated Papers Paper are truly "dead" on the face most of the time and are much darker under UV than the stamps on any other paper. On the back, the papers vary from NF which is quite greyish to DF cream to a very light low fluorescence on some of the Harrison papers.

Unitrade lists these stamps at $6 for VFNH. The stamps offered here grade between 80 and 84 as follows:

Centering/Margins 50/70 and 54/70

Paper freshness: 5/5

Colour: 5/5

Impression: 5/5

Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5
