Canada #111a (SG#206) 5c Bright Indigo King George V, 1911-27 Admiral Issue, A Very Fine OG Example Showing the Retouched UR Frameline

Sold out

A well centered and very fine OG example of the 5c bright indigo (indigo in Unitrade), Admiral stamp from the 1911-1928 Admiral Issue, showing the re-touched upper right frameline.  Printed on white vertical wove paper with coarse vertical mesh.  The gum is a smooth shiny yellowish cream, characteristic of the printings made between 1911 and 1913. It should be noted that Unitrade lists the retouched frameline separately as 111iii, rather than having this listing for the indigo shade as well. Unitrade values a VF-75 OG single of the normal indigo stamp at $500. The stamp offered here grades 75 as follows:

Centering/margins: 50/70

Paper freshness: 5/5

Colour: 5/5

Impression: 5/5

Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5

Perforations: 5/10
