A superb unaddressed official first day cover of the 7c deep brown Louis St. Laurent stamp from the 1973-1977 Caricature Issue, with a block of 4 affixed. Printed on smooth wove paper showing no ribbing. The paper gives a dull fluorescent greyish white reaction under ultraviolet light. General OP-2 Ottawa tagging, 4 mm wide, of very weak strength (almost invisible to the naked eye), and glowing a bright yellow under ultraviolet light. Comb perforated 12.0 x 12.5. The envelope stock is watermarked with an inverted diagonal watermark that reads "Domtar Krypton Parchment 100% Cotton & Flax", is not ribbed and gives a low fluorescent bluish white reaction under UV light, with a sparse concentration of low fluorescent fibres and very sparse concentrations of medium and high fluorescent fibres in the paper. Unitrade values a VF-75 cover at $0.80 for the basic DF paper as a single, and does not value any of the envelope paper varieties on FDC, nor does it price plate blocks on FDC. The cover offered here grades SUP-98 as follows: Intactness of the cover: 25/25 Paper freshness from the front: 25/25 Paper freshness from the back: 10/10 Condition of the paper and edges: 15/15 Appearance of the handwriting: 5/5 (unaddressed) Clarity of the postal markings: 15/15 Condition of the stamps: 3/5 Note: the above scan is a stock photo as are all my scans for material after 1952. The item(s) you will receive has (have) been carefully checked to adhere to the above grading standards, so while it (they) may not be exactly the same, it (they) will be of the same quality. Also, I do not provide back scans of NH stamps or blocks after 1952 unless they are required to illustrate some attribute of the paper or gum.
