Canada #591i,iii (SG#698) 6c Scarlet Pearson 1972-1978 Caricature Issue DF & LF Paper Type 1 & 5 VF-80 NH
Two well centered and very fine NH singles of the 6c scarlet Lester Pearson stamp from the 1973-1977 Caricature Issue, each printed on a different paper. General OP-2 Ottawa tagging, 4 mm wide, of light strength (barely visible to the naked eye), and glowing a bright yellow under ultraviolet light. The paper gives different reactions under UV light as follows:
- One stamp is on a vertical wove paper with a burnished smooth surface texture. Under UV light, the paper gives a dull fluorescent greyish white reaction on both sides, with very sparse concentrations of low fluorescent and brownish woodpulp fibres visible in the paper.
- One stamp is on vertical wove paper that has a burnished smooth surface on the printed surface. Under UV light, the paper gives a low fluorescent bluish white reaction, with a sparse concentration of low fluorescent fibres being visible in the paper.
Comb perforated 12.0 x 12.5. Unitrade values two VF-75 NH singles at $0.50.
