Canada #589vi (SG#696) 4c Black King 1972-1978 Caricature Issue DF/HF Ribbed Paper Tag Spots F-70 NH
Two fine NH singles of the 4c black William Lyon Mackenzie King stamp from the 1973-1977 Caricature Issue on the DF/HF ribbed paper, each showing stray tagging spots on the stamp as shown in the picture. Printed on vertical wove paper showing horizontal ribbing on the front and the back. The paper gives a dull fluorescent greyish reaction under ultraviolet light on the face, and a medium fluorescent bluish reaction on the back. General OP-2 Ottawa tagging, 4 mm wide, of moderate strength (barely visible to the naked eye), and glowing a bright yellow under ultraviolet light. Each stamp shows a spot of stray taggant on the stamp, one being opposite King's forehead, and the other one accross from King's nose. Comb perforated 12.0 x 12.5. Smooth, creamy PVA gum with an eggshell sheen. Unitrade values two F-65 NH singles at $0.35.
