Canada #586 (SG#693) 1c Orange Macdonald 1972-1978 Caricature Issue LL Blank Block DF-fl, LF-S, MF-VS Paper VF-80 NH
A well centered and very fine NH lower left field stock corner block of the 1c orange Sir John A. Macdonald stamp from the 1973-1977 Caricture Issue. Printed on horizontal wove paper showing no ribbing or mesh and giving a dull fluorescent bluish white reaction under ultraviolet light on the face, and a dull fluorescent bluish white reaction on the back, with a sparse concentration of low fluorescent fibres, and a very sparse concentration of medium fluorescent fibres visible in the paper. General OP-2 Ottawa tagging that is 4 mm wide, of moderate strength (clearly visible to the naked eye but not dark), and glowing deep bright yellow under ultraviolet light. Comb perforated 12.0 x 12.5. Smooth, creamy PVA gum with a satin sheen. Unitrade values a VF-75 NH block at $0.75. The block offered here grades 80 as follows:
