Canada #458xxi (SG#583) 5c Deep Bright Blue Centennial Precancel MF Paper Streaky Dextrine Gum VF-84 NH
A very well centered and very fine fine mint NH single of the 5c deep bright blue precancelled fishing village stamp from the 1967-1973 Centennial Issue.
Vertical wove paper with no visible mesh, and streaky creamy dextrose gum with a semi-gloss sheen. Under long-wave ultra violet light the paper gives a medium fluorescent bluish white white reaction, with no fluorescent fibres visible in the paper. Unitrade only lists hibrite for this paper, but in reality the fluorescence level varies from medium fluorescent to true hibrite. The ink colour under UV is black. Unitrade values a VF-75 NH single at $0.50. The stamp offered here grades VF-84 NH as follows:
Paper freshness: 5/5
Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5
Note any vertical or horizontal line shown in the scan is the edge of the acetate strip that the stamp was resting inside on the stockcard.
Note: the above scan is a stock photo as are all my scans for material after 1952. The item(s) you will receive has (have) been carefully checked to adhere to the above grading standards, so while it (they) may not be exactly the same, it (they) will be of the same quality. Also, I do not provide back scans of NH stamps or blocks after 1952 unless they are required to illustrate some attribute of the paper or gum.
