Canada #458xxi (SG#583) 5c Deep Blue Centennial Precancel 2 Different Papers VF-80 NH

Two well centered and very fine fine mint NH singles of the 5c deep blue precancelled fishing village stamp from the 1967-1973 Centennial Issue, each on a different paper: Vertical wove paper with no visible mesh, and streaky creamy dextrose gum with a semi-gloss sheen. Under long-wave ultra violet light the paper gives two different reactions as follows:

• high fluorescent bluish white reaction with no fluorescent fibres visible in the paper.
• medium fluorescent bluish white reaction with no fluorescent fibres visible in the paper.
• Unitrade lists both of these as hibrite, but in reality the fluorescence level varies from medium fluorescent to true hibrite.

The ink colour of both stamps under UV is black. Unitrade values two VF-75 NH singles at $1. The stamps offered here grade VF-80 NH as follows: Margins/centering: 50/70 Paper freshness: 5/5 Colour: 5/5 Impression: 5/5 Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5 Perforations: 10/10 Note any vertical or horizontal line shown in the scan is the edge of the acetate strip that the stamp was resting inside on the stockcard.
