Three very fine mint NH singles of  the 1c precancelled Northern Lights and dogsled team stamps from the 1967-1973 Centennial Issue, each in a different shade, and with a different paper and gum:
  • Violet brown on vertical wove paper with no mesh and smooth cream dextrose gum with a semi gloss sheen. Under UV light the paper gives a dull fluorescent greyish white reaction, with no fluorescent fibres visible in the paper.
  • Deep brown on vertical wove paper with no mesh and smooth cream dextrose gum with a semi gloss sheen. Under UV light the paper gives a non fluorescent violet reaction, with no fluorescent fibres visible in the paper.
  • Violet brown on vertical wove paper with no mesh and smooth cream dextrose gum with a semi gloss sheen. Under UV light the paper gives a dull fluorescent greyish white reaction, with very few low and medium fluorescent fibres visible in the paper.
The ink colour under UV is deep brown for all stamps.  Unitrade values three VF-75 NH singles of the DF paper at $0.75. The NF paper is not listed for the precancel. The stamps offered here grade VF-75 NH as follows: Margins/centering: 45/70  Paper freshness: 5/5  Colour: 5/5  Impression: 5/5  Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5 Perforations: 10/10 Note any vertical or horizontal line shown in the scan is the edge of the acetate strip that the stamp was resting inside on the stockcard.

Note: the above scan is a stock photo as are all my scans for material after 1952. The item(s) you will receive has (have) been carefully checked to adhere to the above grading standards, so while it (they) may not be exactly the same, it (they) will be of the same quality. Also, I do not provide back scans of NH stamps or blocks after 1952 unless they are required to illustrate some attribute of the paper or gum.
