Canada #348 (SG#471) 5c Ultramarine 1954 Wilding Issue Coil Strip of 4 DF GW Ribbed Paper VF-84 NH
A very well centered and very fine NH strip of 4 of the 4c deep ultramarine Queen Elizabeth II coil stamp from the 1954 Wilding Issue. Printed on ribbed vertical wove paper that shows clear vertical ribbing and which gives a dull-fluorescent greyish white reaction under ultraviolet light. The spacing between the stamp impressions is 4 mm, 4 mm and 4 mm. Smooth, shiny cream coloured gum. Unitrade values a VF-75 strip at $12. However, strips grading over VF-80 are scarcer due to the perforating and cutting processes used to produce them. The strip offered here grades VF-84 as follows:
Paper freshness: 5/5
Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5
Note: the above scan is a stock photo as are all my scans for material after 1952. The item(s) you will receive has (have) been carefully checked to adhere to the above grading standards, so while it (they) may not be exactly the same, it (they) will be of the same quality. Also, I do not provide back scans of NH stamps or blocks after 1952 unless they are required to illustrate some attribute of the paper of gum.
