Canada #340i (SG#466) 4c Deep Violet 1954 Wilding Issue Plate 18 UR DF Gr. Ribbed Paper VF-84 NH
A very well centered very fine NH example of the 4c deep violet Queen Elizabeth II stamp from the 1954-63 Wilding Issue, in a plate 18 upper right (UR) block of 4. Printed on cream vertical wove paper showing light vertical ribbing and giving a dull fluorescent greyish reaction under ultraviolet light. Smooth, shiny cream gum. Unitrade values a VF-75 NH block at $6. However blocks grading over VF-80 are scarcer, due to the fact that the stamps were line perforated. The block offered here grades 84 as follows:
Centering/margins:54/70
Paper freshness: 5/5
Colour: 5/5
Impression: 5/5
Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5
Perforations: 10/10
Note: the above scan is a stock photo as are all my scans for material after 1952.The item (s) you will receive has (have) been carefully checked to adhere to the above grading standards, so while it (they) may not be exactly the same, it (they) will be of the same quality. Also, I do not provide back scans of NH stamps or blocks after 1952 unless they are required to illustrate some attribute of the paper of gum.
