Canada #339p (SG#465p) 3c Carmine 1954 Wilding Issue W2B Plate 2 LL DF LV Ribbed Paper VF-84 NH
A very well centered and very fine NH example of the 3c carmine Winnipeg Tagged Queen Elizabeth II stamp from the 1954-63 Wilding Issue, in a plate 2 lower left (LL) block of 4. Printed on horizontal wove paper showing ribbing on the back and giving a dull fluorescent light violet reaction under ultraviolet light (UV). Two position dots in the bottom selvage under "," of "Co." and "." of "Limited.". The tagging is moderately applied, being clearly visible to the naked eye. Shiny, yellowish cream gum. Unitrade values a VF-75 NH block at $10.50. However, blocks grading over VF-80 are scarce due to the fact that the stamps were line perforated. The block offered here grades 84 as follows:
Paper freshness: 5/5
Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5
Note: the above scan is a stock photo as are all my scans for material after 1952.The item (s) you will receive has (have) been carefully checked to adhere to the above grading standards, so while it (they) may not be exactly the same, it (they) will be of the same quality. Also, I do not provide back scans of NH stamps or blocks after 1952 unless they are required to illustrate some attribute of the paper of gum.
