Canada #339ii (SG#465) 3c Carmine 1954 Wilding Issue Plate 1 UR, UL 2Different Papers VF-80 LH
Two very fine LH examples of the 3c carmine Queen Elizabeth II stamp from the 1954-63 Wilding Issue, in plate 1 upper right (UR) and upper left (UL) blocks of 4. The upper left block is printed on horizontal wove paper giving a dull-fluorescent ivory reaction under ultraviolet light and showing clear ribbing on the front and back. The upper right block is printed on smooth horizontal wove paper showing mesh only when held up to the light and giving a low fluorescent bluish white reaction under UV. This paper also contains a low density concentration of low fluorescent fibres, a sparse concentration of medium fluorescent fibres and a very sparse concentration of high fluorescent fibres. Smooth yellowish cream coloured gum on the UL block and very shiny cream gum on the UR block. Unitrade values VF-75 NH blocks at $26.80 and the NH stamps at $26. The hinging is confined to the selvage - the stamps are NH. The blocks offered here grade 80 as follows:
