The paper, varies from cream to white in tone, and some paper shows no visible vertical mesh, or no obvious mesh, while other papers show clear vertical mesh, or grain in the paper. There is also a thin crisp paper, which is translucent, and will show much of the design detail through the back of the stamp. Gum varies from cream semi-gloss to deep yellow semi gloss, with streaky versions as well.
