Canada #1916 (SG#2097) $1.05 2001 Art Canada NF/DF Paper Silver & Pink Gold Background VF-80 NH
Two well centered and very fine NH mint examples of the $1.05 2001 Art Canada Issue, featuring The Space Between Columns #21, by Jack Shadbolt, one with the normal silver background, and the other with pink gold background. Printed on Tullis Russell Coatings (TRC) paper giving a non fluorescent violet reaction under ultraviolet light on the front and a dull fluorescent greyish reaction on the back. This is the standard paper on which this issue is usually found. The tagging is bright yellow Ottawa GT-4 tagging measuring 4 mm wide on the top and bottom, and 2 mm wide at the sides. The foil stamping on this in the background is listed in Unitrade as being silver, which one stamp is. However, it also exists in a shade of pink gold, which is quite distinct. Unfortunately I cannot show the difference in a scan due to reflection of the scanner light. But you can see a very light pinkish tinge to the foil. Unitrade values two normal VF-75 NH singles at $4.50. The stamps offered here grade 80 as follows:
Paper freshness: 5/5 Colour: 5/5 Impression: 5/5 Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5 Perforations 10/10
Note: the above scan is a stock photo as are all my scans for material after 1952. The item(s) you will receive has (have) been carefully checked to adhere to the above grading standards, so while it (they) may not be exactly the same, it (they) will be of the same quality. Also, I do not provide back scans of NH stamps or blocks after 1952 unless they are required to illustrate some attribute of the paper or gum.
