Canada #110d (SG#249a) 4c Bistre Yellow Admiral Issue Dry Printing, Fine Mesh Paper VF-80 NH

SKU 222186728329

A well centered and very fine mint NH example of the 4c bistre yellow (yellow ochre in Unitrade), dry printing Admiral stamp from the 1911-1928 Admiral Issue. Printed on white vertical wove paper showing fine vertical mesh, and measuring 0.0045" thick. This is the normal thickness of the later dry printings which normally vary from 0.004" for the earliest dry printings to 0.005" for the last ones. The gum is a smooth, shiny and somewhat streaky cream. In my opinion, this shade is the palest of the dry printing shades and is at least as scarce as the golden yellow shade, just based on how rarely I have come across it. Unitrade values a VF-75 NH single at $210. But this shade should be worth a premium on account of its scarcity. The stamp offered here grades 80 as follows:

Centering/margins: 50/70

Paper freshness: 5/5

Colour: 5/5

Impression: 5/5

Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5

Perforations: 10/10
