Canada #101 (SG#193) 10c Dull Purple Quebec Tercentenary Issue Paper With No Visible Mesh - VF-75 Disturbed Gum

SKU 322190549866

A very fine mint disturbed OG example of the 10c dull purple "Quebec in 1700" stamp from the 1908 Quebec Tercentenary Issue. Printed on vertical wove paper showing no visible mesh unless held up to a strong light source. The gum on this stamp appears thick and crackly. I have examined the perforations carefully and can say with certainty that the stamp has not been re-gummed, but that the gum was likely moistened and re-dried, causing it to appear crackly. Unitrade values a VF-75 OG example at $300. The stamp offered here grades 75 as follows:

Centering/margins: 45/70

Paper freshness: 5/5

Colour: 5/5

Impression: 5/5

Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5

Perforations: 10/10
