Canada #593v,ix (SG#700) 8c Ultramarine Queen Elizabeth II 1972-1978 Caricature Issue MF/LF & HF Paper Types 2 & 1 VF-80 NH

Two well centered and very fine NH singles of the 8c ultramarine Queen Elizabeth II stamp from the 1973-1977 Caricature Issue, each printed on a different paper. General OP-2 Ottawa tagging, 4 mm wide, of very weak strength (almost invisible to the naked eye) and glowing a bright yellow under ultraviolet light. The paper gives different reactions under UV light, and exhibits different physical characteristics as follows:

• One stamp is on smooth, vertical wove paper, that gives a dull fluorescent greyish white reaction under UV light on the face, with a low density concentration of low fluorescent fibres, and a sparse concentration of medium fluorescent fibres, visible in the paper. On the back, the paper gives a dull fluorescent deep blue reaction, with a low density concentration of low fluorescent fibres and 1-2 high fluorescent fibres, visible in the paper. The tagging is an azure colour in normal light.
• One stamp is on smooth vertical wove paper, and gives a dull fluorescent greyish white reaction on the front, with a medium density concentration of low fluorescent fibres and a low density concentration of high fluorescent fibres, visible in the paper. On the back, the paper gives a medium fluorescent bluish white reaction, with a low density concentration of medium fluorescent fibres, and a sparse concentration of high fluorescent fibres visible in the paper.

Comb perforated 12.0 x 12.5. Unitrade values two VF-75 NH singles at $0.60.
