Four fine NH singles of the 8c ultramarine Queen Elizabeth II stamp from the 1973-1977 Caricature Issue, each printed on a different paper. General OP-2 Ottawa tagging, 4 mm wide, of very weak strength (almost invisible to the naked eye) and glowing a bright yellow under ultraviolet light. The paper gives different reactions under UV light and display different physical characteristics as follows:

  • One stamp is on smooth vertical wove paper, giving a low fluorescent grey blue reaction on the front and back, with a low density concentration of low fluorescent fibres visible in the paper.
  • One stamp is on smooth vertical wove paper, that gives a low fluorescent grey blue reaction on the front and back, with very few low fluorescent fibres, and very few brownish woodpulp fibres, visible in the paper.
  • One stamp is on horizontal ribbed vertical wove paper, and gives a dull fluorescent greyish white reaction on the face, with a medium density concentration of low fluorescent fibres, and very few brownish woodpulp fibres, visible in the paper. On the back, the paper gives a dull fluorescent greyish reaction, with a low density concentration of low fluorescent fibres visible.
  • One stamp is on horizontally ribbed vertical wove paper, and gives a dull fluorescent blue grey reaction on the front and back, with a low density concentration of low fluorescent fibres, and a sparse concentration of brownish woodpulp fibres visible in the paper.

Comb perforated 12.0 x 12.5. Unitrade values four F-65 NH singles at $0.65. The stamps offered here grade 70 as follows: Margins/centering: 40/70 Paper freshness: 5/5 Colour: 5/5 Impression: 5/5 Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5 Perforations: 10/10 Note: the above scan is a stock photo as are all my scans for material after 1952.
