Canada #461 (SG#584) 8c Deep Purple Brown 1967-73 Centennial DFVW & DF-fl Gr Papers VF-80 NH

Two well centered and very fine mint NH singles of the 8c deep brown purple Alaska Highway stamp from the 1967-1973 Centennial Issue, each on a different paper. Horizontal wove paper with no visible mesh, or ribbing. Streaky creamy dextrose gum with a semi-gloss sheen. Under long-wave ultra violet light the stamps show 2 different reactions as follows:

• violet white, with no fluorescent fibres visible, and
• greyish, with very, very few (i.e. fewer than 10 visible) high fluorescent fibres visible.

The ink colours under UV are the same as in normal light. Unitrade values two VF-75 NH singles at $0.70. The stamps offered here grade VF-80 NH as follows: Margins/centering: 50/70 Paper freshness: 5/5 Colour: 5/5 Impression: 5/5 Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5 Perforations: 10/10 Note any vertical or horizontal line shown in the scan is the edge of the acetate strip that the stamp was resting inside on the stockcard.
