Canada #98 (SG#190) 2c Carmine Rose Quebec Tercentenary Coarse Mesh Paper, A Fine Appearing But VG Mint NH Example

Canada #98 (SG#190) 2c Carmine Rose Quebec Tercentenary Coarse Mesh Paper, A Fine Appearing But VG Mint NH Example

A fine appearing but VG mint NH example of the 2c carmine-rose Queen Alexandra and King Edward VII stamp from the 1908 Quebec Tercentenary Issue. Printed on vertical wove paper showing coarse vertical mesh. The gum is smooth, shiny yellowish cream. It is NH, but there is a very small spot of gum loss, so we are valuing it as hinged. Some tropical stains on the back and in the lower margins reduce the grade from fine to Very Good. Unitrade values a F-65 OG example at $15, so VG should be worth $7.50. The stamp offered here grades 60 as follows:

Centering/margins: 40/70

Paper freshness: 0/5

Colour: 5/5

Impression: 5/5

Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5

Perforations: 10/10

Adjustment for staining spots: - 5 points
