Canadian Coil Stamps

Canadian Coil Stamps

Single stamps, pairs and strips that are issued in rolls or from vending machines. The first official coil stamps were issued in 1913, and came from vending machines. Later they were sold in rolls of 500, which was eventually reduced to rolls of 100 in 1968. The process involved in printing coil stamps is unique and results in a whole separate sub-field of collecting.
