1907 multicolour Charles Martin postcard sent from Highbury, UK to Paris Ontario and depicting the St. Mary Magdalene gardens in Holloway. Sent on June 7, 1907. Franked with a single of the 1/2d light green King Edward VII profile head definitive, which shortpaid the postcard rate by 1/2d. The deficiency converted to 1c, which was then doubled and assessed by affixing a copy of J2. The GB stamp is tied by clear strike of an June 1, 1907 Highbury double circle CDS, and the J2 is tied by a lovely strike of July 8, 1907 Paris, ON CDS. In addition there are some nice strikes of the postage due marrkngs that were applied first in the UK and then in Canada. Unitrade values a F-65 cover bearing J2 at $20. The card offered here grades VF-81 as follows:
