A NH jump strip of 4 of the 8c royal blue Queen Elizabeth II coil stamp from the 1973-1977 Caricature Issue, showing weak ghost tagging bars on the back. Printed on horizontal wove paper with no ribbing. The paper gives a dull fluorescent blue grey reaction under ultraviolet light on the front and back, with a low density concentration of low fluorescent fibres visible in the paper. General OP-2 Ottawa tagging, 4 mm wide, of very weak strength (almost invisible to the naked eye), and glowing a bright yellow under ultraviolet light. The back scan shows the appearance of the ghost tagging bars on a typical strip. Perforated 10.0 vertically. Smooth, cream PVA gum with a satin sheen. The close up scans show the normal alignment where the top of the "8" is nearly level with the top of the "C" of "Canada" of the adjacent stamp, and the jump, in which these two are not at all level. Unitrade lists 604 as LF paper. I have found three different variations of the LF paper, of which this is one. Unitrade values a VF-75 NH jump strip, without the ghost tagging bars on the basic LF paper at $8.00. A fair value for this strip would be $12. The strip offered here grades 75 as follows: Margins/centering: 45/70 Paper freshness: 5/5 Colour: 5/5 Impression: 5/5 Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5 Perforations: 10/10 Note: the above scan is a stock photo as are all my scans for material after 1952. The stamp, stamps or multiple you will receive has been carefully checked to adhere to the above grading standards, so while it (they) may not be exactly the same, it (they) will be of the same quality. Also, I do not provide back scans of NH stamps or stamp, stamps or multiples after 1952 unless they are required to illustrate some attribute of the paper or gum.
